High-quality Montessori preschool within Lavallette’s public school: the first of its kind in New Jersey.

Welcome to Lavallette School’s Public Montessori Preschool Program!

We are offering a full-day, high-quality Montessori preschool program starting in Fall 2022, for both Lavallette residents and out-of-district families. At this time, we are the first and only public Montessori preschool in New Jersey.

High Quality

Our program follows the highest standards for Montessori implementation through the support of Montessori Public Works, and utilizes training and coaching from MACTE-accredited programs.

Lower Tuition Costs

Our preschool tuition costs are comparable to other public preschool programs, and a fraction of the cost of private Montessori programs, without sacrificing quality. Discounted tuition rates are given to Lavallette + Seaside Park residents.

An Ideal Curriculum

Not only do children thrive social-emotionally and academically in a Montessori environment, Montessori is a well-studied curriculum with great long-term outcomes backed by scientific research and evidence.

Innovation is at the Forefront of Lavallette School

Students enrolled in the Montessori preschool program will have access to the groundbreaking facilities that make Lavallette School stand out. We invite students to stay in the school beyond the preschool program to continue their high-quality education, enjoying innovation and small class sizes within the Lavallette school district!

STEAM Lab

When walking through the doors of Lavallette school, the first thing you will see is an expansive STEAM lab at the heart of the building. Walls of maker supplies, 3-D printers, and other cutting-edge resources allow our students of all ages to feel empowered through innovation, creativity, and possibilities.

Aquaponic Garden

This fall, Lavallette Elementary School will unveil the new Aquaponics Garden! The garden produces approximately 120 heads of lettuce every 6 weeks, which translates to PTO farmer’s markets, and partnerships with community restaurants.

This garden will not only provide lessons for students in agriculture and nature, but also in math, entrepreneurship, and finance within the community.

Tranquil “Cool Down” Space

Opposite the aquaponic garden is an elevated fish tank in the wall that goes through to a tranquil space for students. This room gives students a calm and quiet space for when they need a “cool down zone” to regulate themselves.
